Robin Askey (BSc)
Director
Robin has worked as an independent advisor providing expertise and due diligence for financial investment firms and the mining industry. He supports in tackling energy, greenhouse gas, and sustainability challenges specifically in the bioenergy industry – such as the EU Taxonomy alignment for bioenergy, infrastructure, and forestry assets, Renewable Energy Directive II compliance, and asset and investment climate-related risks.
Robin has also developed due diligence programme for the mineral industry (iTSCi – International Tin Supply Chain Initiative) which won the programme international recognition. He also developed due diligence systems for the timber industry recognised by the UK government.
He is also lead ISCC auditor specialising in the biofuels and chemical industry.
Richard Watkins (BSc (Hon), PDip.)
Director
Richard manages timber due diligence and supply chains drawing on over 25 years of experience in the timber industry working with high-value timber products to international paper companies and paper mills to ensure the sourcing of timber and wood fibre complies with legal obligations (Lacey Act, UK Timber Regulation and EU Timber Regulation). Richard advises on timber products company policy formation and sourcing analytics and advises companies on the assessment and mitigation of supply chain risk, based on principles of supply chain transparency and product traceability back to origin.
Jack Symonds (BSc Hons & MSc)
Associate Director & ISCC Project Lead
Jack’s experience working on projects to conduct sustainability due diligence on renewable energy assets for investor acquisition and EU Taxonomy alignment assessment, coupled with his practical experience working with large energy installations complying with the Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) enables Jack to be well-placed to conduct technical assessments for investors, biofuels and energy generating installations. A fully qualified ISCC Auditor and certified GHG expert, Jack provides certification services to multinational companies with operations across Europe, North America and Southeast Asia and many bioenergy companies in the United Kingdom. Jack leads envirosense’s renewable energy and greenhouse gas services.
Adam Grant (BSc & MSc)
Sustainable Finance and Carbon Specialist
Adam, a former forest fund investor and carbon trader working at the jurisdictional level, has over 20 years of leading
sustainability programmes and teams. Adam offers a diverse wealth of knowledge across multiple sectors. Having worked in fields including; global carbon credit markets, climate change, forestry, and chain of custody assessment and certification, Adam has used his expertise to develop a variety of industry leading programmes for a number of internationally known corporations.
Emma Hughes (BA Hons & MSc)
Timber Consultant and Sustainability Auditor
Emma’s specialism comes in the Timber industry working in; consultancy, system implementation, bespoke due-diligence, and risk assessments for a wide variety of clientele.
Alongside Emma’s Timber expertise Emma additionally carries out Sustainability Audits, has experience in GHG accounting, and works in Reporting and Verification for the Environmental sector.
Jack Boyle (BSc Hons)
Renewables and Sustainability Verifier
As a Renewable and Sustainability Verifier, Jack plays a pivotal role in assessing the environmental compliance of our clients across their supply chain operations. With a background in Environmental Biology from The University of Nottingham, Jack brings a strong foundation in sustainable principles and an in depth understanding of environmental systems.
Jack’s responsibilities include conducting and verifying audits for the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Renewable Obligation (RO) schemes. He also consults with clients to achieve PAS2060 Certification and conducts Environmental Assessment Certificate (EAC) verification, as well as performing Greenhouse Gas (GHG) verification. Jack is also a qualified ISCC EU auditor, ensuring clients are compliant with ISCC standards. Through a thorough attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship, Jack contributes to our clients’ efforts in meeting and exceeding sustainability standards.
Danielle Neary (BA)
Project Coordinator and Trainee Sustainability Verifier
Dani is a geographer with on the ground community conservation experience. Her studies centred around the interconnectedness of culture and climate change. She supports with the development of the EU Deforestation Regulation due diligence framework, along with assessing timber supply chain evidence in line with UK and EU legislation. Dani also assists with research and project delivery on renewables, including scoping emissions calculation methodologies and assessing International Standards compliance requirements.
Carlos Paixao (BSc & MSc)
North America representative, ISCC Lead, Forestry and Carbon Specialist
Carlos is a Registered Professional Forester based in Canada and an approved forestry offset project specialist. Carlos has participated in IFM and REDD+ carbon verifications across the globe. Further, Carlos has participated in annual carbon inventories for small and large organizations (ISO 14064-1) including consultancy work during the verification by accredited organizations. Carlos is also a lead auditor for sustainable biomass and bioenergy production assessments to show compliance with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED II). Carlos professional experience covers a very wide range of standards, industries and geography over four continents. Carlos speaks and writes French, English, and Portuguese and has intermediate skills in Spanish.
Rogelio Gonzales Tato (BSc & MSc)
Sustainable Forest Management Specialist
With on the ground experience in Sustainable Forest Management from across the globe, Rogelio’s specialist knowledge in assessing Forest Management Plans against a variety of different legislations has proven to be invaluable to the envirosense team in providing bespoke advice to investors and clients looking to expand and diversify their portfolios into forestry. Rogelio has many years of experience working within the timber industry, with the majority of his work revolving around assessing existing practices across the EU. Rogelio uses his in-depth knowledge of timber and paper supply chains to help a range of clients, from timber merchants to supermarkets, to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the forestry industry and the EUTR.
Rob Barrows (BA Hons)
Business Support and Project Coordinator
Since Rob has joined the envirosense® team he has been tasked with research and the undertaking of due-diligence for a variety of projects, as well as coordinating them. Whilst coordinating, Rob is also training to complete commodity risk assessments in EU/UK Timber Regulation and EU Conflict Mineral Regulation, whilst also assisting with the data review and the analysis stages of Sustainability Audits.
Lindsay Williams
Lindsay is the financial controller and manages all financial matters for the company. Lindsay is also involved with verifying data and statistics related to aspects of the assurance engagement.
