Carbon Neutrality
PAS 2060 has been built upon a clear definition of what carbon neutrality actually consists of for your company, and through having a greater understanding of what this constitutes can enable the effective implementation of action to bring your company closer to a state of carbon neutrality.

Carbon neutrality means that with all operations considered your business operations are not adding to atmospheric GHG emissions, ensuring that where emissions are still emitted, and cannot be actively avoided, that they are offset by drawing down the equivalent amount of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, or more. This can involve schemes such as carbon capture technologies, afforestation and equivalent schemes that are supported by the issuance of carbon credits.

What is PAS 2060?
PAS 2060 is an internationally recognized standard that has been implemented to ensure that claims made by companies regarding their commitment to carbon neutrality and carbon footprint reductions can be verified. This is ultimately to ensure that GHG reporting is increasingly more accurate so that alignment with the standard, that was put forward by the British Standards Institution, can be assessed with greater confidence.

PAS 2060 can be broken down into four stages. These are measurement, reduction, offsetting and documentation. The verification of compliance with these four key stages can then be conducted by an independent third party.

Our team can offer this bespoke service that is built upon our expertise in verification and certification to deliver the highest quality consultancy for GHG emissions reporting and compliance.
